We used the cardigan when the actress walked into the room, she then takes it of and lets it drop to the floor to give the allusion she is undressing to go and get in the shower with the actor. We used the vivid colour of red to show that her personality isn’t plain as the white vest top may suggest and it showed to the audience that she was an important character. It was also to add colour to the set because we were working with a lot of pale washed out colours.
we had the actress in a plain white vest top we decided to use the colour white because it represent innocence so the audience wont expect the brutal murder because they will think she is sweet and innocent. However the t shirt was also close fitting which challenges the innocent representation. The t-shirt is also a good colour to show up the blood when it is splattered on to her from the stabbing the red on white is more violent and vivid.
we slathered our actors chest in fake blood for maximum gore we used professional fake blood that they use in films. We had someone splattering blood onto the actress for maximum effect. we decided our killers weapon should be a kitchen knife which is a simple crude weapon. We have chosen this so show that she is only a teenaged girl who has taken a kitchen knife which would be very easy for her to acquire which tells the audience she is not an experienced killer. We wanted the weapon to be crude, brutal and as blood thirsty as possible not quick and clean suck as a gun.
