Location
We decided to film in Hurtwood house building because we needed are location to look like a school and we also wanted to have as much time shooting as possible rather than wasting time on traveling to another location. We shot the stabbing scene in the boys shower room down steers in Hurtwood and in the boy’s bathroom for the mirror scene and washing hands. We changed our ideas for locations more than ones because the original idea was to shoot the sequence in an old elegant house with a bright, white bathroom with a bath shower and a shower curtain so the curtain could just be ripped back, however, since we did not have access to such a location, we discussed shooting in one of the boarding houses which had long narrow corridors and bathrooms that fit the description we wanted. We then decided that it would have been easier and time saving to shoot on school sight and we could make our film work around location difficulties. This is when we changed our location in general: we went from the idea of it being filmed in a house and having the feel of a house to a school and the atmosphere of a school location. For our corridor shots we used the school basement corridor which had pipes running along the wall which gives a scary effect, this is the location where the actress walks along the corridor to then go up the stairs to the bathroom. To make it seem as if the stairs led up to a main boarding house corridor, we shot her feet from an angle going up the stairs and then cut to her walking in the same pace and position as before but in a different corridor and keeping camera movement and angle the same.
